I spent almost six weeks with Tonda's family in the Gabon rainforest, filming for the BBC's Parenthood. Trust like hers isn't given quickly. It's built slowly, day after day, until one morning you look up and realise you've stopped being watched and started being accepted. Its a rare privilege to be accepted so intimately by a wild animal. This frame is what that acceptance looks like.
